Chihaya listened to his words closely, thinking about it. It was certainly a large garden, but... One of the places in Tokyo most abundant with plants...? It certainly was a sad thing... She'd given a sad look at the garden, watching as the sprinklers had stopped watering those plants. Then, a bird had flown down, taking its place on the walkway.
"I-Indeed... much too sad..."
What appeared to be a tear had slid down her face as she thought about it... The war... The people losing their lives... The fact that she would have to be involved in such a war... She quickly wiped it away with the towel that was given to her. She'd looked at her clothes to see if they'd dried any more. Only a bit... She'd wrapped herself up in the towel again as she'd asked Xenneth,
"M-M-May I ask... How long you've been w-w-working here...?"

Xenneth had let his eyes roll to the top of his head directing upward as he thought heavily. How long had he worked here? Maybe a year or two? If he recalled he was eighteen the moment he had awakened, and it was here that he was brought with an application that he didn’t get to read thoroughly seeing that it was put in his hand so suddenly. It was still hard to believe, but he had answered honestly.
”Well…I worked here for a good year now.” he had noted. ”It was because said that my applications was one of the best and they said since I came with my own experienced assistants, then I was acceptable.”
He had given a silly smile as he stroked his right index across his cheek for a rub.
”Of course…I very much know that my mother had something to do with manipulating the system here.”
He hadn’t said that out loud. It was probably something the young shy girl would never understand. Heck, who would understand his mother who had simply sat in the shadows manipulating the city’s needs to her over time with her random appearances and then leaving all so sudden to attend to her own business. Though what kept her so busy that she couldn’t at least try to visit her own son. It was something that constantly bothered him.
His expression had changed without his knowing. The moment his smile left his face, he had already shifted into though as he stared towards the nearby drawing yellow bird that was followed by an even more assortment of colored little birds that roamed the grass for seeds. He watched them as it lightened his mood even though in the inside, the colors could be pictured to be a little more darker with his constant conflicted feelings.

"Is that so...? It seems like this place would be great to work at..."
Chihaya's words had now shown a disappearance of any stuttering. It seemed that she could trust this boy... For some reason, hearing that he'd worked here for a year had made her want to trust him. Mostly because of the fact that this was one of her favorite places to be... Thus, if he took care of it so well, he had to be trustworthy, right? Now, she'd smiled at him again, though she was still clearly blushing.
"Thank you for doing such a great job..."

”W-well…well…”
He had a confused expression on his face at first, but then it had stretched a curve to his cheeks once more. It presented that usual feminine cute smile even though his masculine appearance pretty much now shown. He had turned a shoulder to the girl as he face to the last sprinkler that dock presenting a beautiful rose bush basking in some of the crystal droplets of water.
”…it‘s my job. There‘s no need to thank me. I just want to take care of a plan.”
He had stood there as his white jacket had blown in the breeze of the wind. In some places, even the wind was artificial seeing the breezes were rare unless at a high altitude. This garden however was so life like, it would connect Xenneth to the past. It was a sad truth, he started to realize in the middle of his first year working there that his mother might’ve aided him in helping him work here because of the fact that he was a relic of the past. He couldn’t deny, he would miss sights such as flowers and the birds that would come to such beautiful places that were once abundant.
He would have to thank her later.

"Well, it seems like you enjoy your job. That's good..."
Chihaya then began to think about her job at the bar, serving customers and taking orders. It wasn't at all difficult. Well... maybe sometimes... when there was a rowdy customer, or the person was just plain unpleasant. But that was something that was out of Chihaya's control. To her, it seemed that Xenneth had the better job between the two of them. Not only did he enjoy it, but there were no surprises. Always a set schedule, always a sight to see, always the birds to hear. It was like its own little world within the world... But still, Chihaya enjoyed working at the bar too. There were the people she loved there... And Xenneth had his sisters. So, in the end, maybe they both had the right job for themselves. She'd slowly gotten up, unwrapping herself from the coat that Xenneth had given her and she'd extended her arm towards him, offering the coat. It seemed that she was dry now. It was almost like seeing her when they'd first met. Only she wasn't as shy and now, she was smiling at him, even with a blush.
"Once again, thanks for the coat. I appreciate it, Xenneth-kun."

”You‘re very welcome.”
She was different somehow. Looking at her again, she seemed like just an ordinary girl and not one frightened with the stutters and constant scarce look on her face. She was probably uncomfortable around him up until this point. It had been noted in the past he had this problem a lot and he understood.
”So Chihaya, from your last statement, you‘ve made me curious.” he had said with a smile. Most of the time people wouldn’t imply about someone loving a job since it was barely a thought in peoples’ mind about whether or not a job could be enjoyable. ”…so, do you have a career or job you‘re interested in? I‘m sure you‘ve thought about it.” he had asked.
Honestly, he didn’t want to admit, but this job was his dream. It wasn’t because thought that it was something he could do, it was because for a simpler reason. That being, he couldn’t imagine something more simpler, more serene, more peaceful.

"Interested in? Not really... But I'm working at the Altamira Resort's Bar as a waitress. Perhaps if you want to come by for a little food or something to drink, feel free to come by?"
It was almost as if she was inviting him to the bar with her. She'd covered her mouth with a single finger, her cheeks a red glow. She hadn't meant it in any special way, and hoped that he'd understand that much. But now she began to think about it... What did she have interests in...? She hadn't exactly imagined her life past the bar and being with her parents and then taking up the bar herself. But that wasn't exactly a dream, however she didn't hate the idea. Maybe it was just a pathway for her, with the rest covered by her own thoughts. It was almost like choices that she could make, but was just... too scared? Now that she'd thought about it, she was still terribly shy of many people and of many things...

”I‘d love to! I‘d also look forward to being served by you.”
He had given a care free smile seeing he hadn’t minded the concept of the girl serving him at the bar. She was just a friend after all, and more or less, if she was kind enough to let him guide her through this garden, then he was hoping she’d be kind enough to serve him. She was the only friendly face he would know when the time came. He was old enough for a bar, as well as alcohol. His I.D.’s date had been preset to say a more appropriate age. Even if that was the case, he wasn’t one to be too interested in alcoholic or foul drinks, so he had no worries about the usual “bar” manners such as the rowdiness or dangers.
”Chihaya, you work at a bar, and you‘re so shy. That‘s so cool! It‘s quite more than I could handle seeing I wouldn‘t feel too…open in such a place. It‘s obvious you‘re a lot braver than I was when I was a bit younger.”
His cheeks bathed in a red pigment ashamed to admit that sad truth. She was braver than him, and maybe even more seeing that he, even now, was still slightly shy of some things. Maybe that’s why he stayed in this abundant garden. This was his world away from the current.

"Ah... Well, it's not all that difficult, really. After all, I have my parents, Haruna, the rest of the waiters and waitresses... even the cooks, really. So, as long as I can be around familiar faces, I'll be fine."
Chihaya's cheeks had flushed a light pink at Xenneth's compliment towards her. It had been a long time since she'd had a compliment given to her outside of her parents and Haruna... It'd happen every other day with her co-workers... So, getting one from someone she'd just met was surely an awkward moment for her. Scratching the back of her head awkwardly, she gave a shy smile to Xenneth and followed with this comment,
"B-Besides you can't really say that I'm brave... Maybe that I have an obligation to my duties... but brave? No, no, no... that just isn't it..."

He listened to her, chuckling soundly, lowly even as she went on. He wasn’t too loud so he wouldn’t offend her and make it seem like he was laughing at her. He was just laughing at her shyness as all. It was cute and every time he saw it, it sort of brought back memories. He wish he could look at himself from the past and stand over himself and say words to him.
”Just because you think so, doesn‘t make it true. At times, moments will come when we discover just who we are. You start to realize that the small things you do were only a small part of that big heart that you have that can do much more. I believe that you can do much more, Chihaya. ”
His eyes shifted so suddenly as he noticed something on the ground. It was small, very small. He had noticed it beyond the blades of grass as he had kneeled down to get a closer sight. His fingers reaching down into the green only to come back up with the small oval like wooden char. It looked like a pit of a seed. He had only smiled as his eyes adverted up to what was in the distance.
”It…it just takes a little difference…”
He had let his gaze shift to the girl that stood over his shoulder still. His right hand had lifted as he reached for the girl’s hands to place the peach pit into her hands cuffing them as he motioned his hands over her own. He had stepped to the side keeping his hands over hers and then smiled as he looked to her eyes.
”…and by little, I mean we make a big difference.”
He had gestured his head to the distance with a simple tilt and shift. The distant tree that was before them had seemed aged and healthy. It’s bark seemed like it could tell a story. From it’s branches had sprouted many peaches one by one as he had admired the tree.
”I didn‘t plant it…but someone had to a long time ago.” he had noted to her before smiling and standing back before her and smiling as he had removed his hands from hers. ”…but, why don‘t we plant this one instead? I‘m sure it‘ll grow up healthy here.” he had said smiling kindly once more.

Xenneth had placed the seed in Chihaya's hands, and she'd looked at it a bit curiously, then Xenneth had continued his mini-speech and, by the end of it, Chihaya had a big smile on her face. It surely was a touching speech that had reached out to her. She turned herself to see where he was looking and took notice of the tree. If she recalled correctly, that was the tree she rested under when she'd gotten here. She'd slowly come to realize that Xenneth was right. The small things, such as when the seed was planted long ago, presented a path to everyone that they had their choice of following.
She looked back at the seed in her cupped hand and used her other hand to cover it, almost as if she were cradling it, protecting it. She'd nudged at Xenneth a bit, her mouth now moving to ask him her question.
"Yeah. Let's plant it. Do you know where an empty plot of land is?"

”I think I know just the place.”
He had looked in the distance as he could see past the other peach tree. It had been only one or two around lately, so placing another one shouldn’t have be so hard. He had walked slowly to the distant clear area that was on the right side of the garden. Unlike the other side that had two trees already, this one only had one, and it was further from this area where the clear speck of land was. Not only would planting it there be the best spot, but it would seem in favor of the conditions seeing that it would square off the garden beautifully along with the other trees.
”This spot seems the best.”
He had stopped before turning to the Chihaya awaiting for her to come. He had reached into his rope and into the clothing beneath as he had taken out a small box. Pressing the button upon the snap open case had revealed a few tools that seemed similar to small gardening tools. (Ugh! Bad postage!)

Chihaya followed close to him, keeping the seed safe from any bird that might've flown past her and snatched up the seed for lunch. When she'd gotten to where Xenneth was, she'd given a small smile before she stood next to him, looking at the empty plot of land. She'd thought about it and said,
"So, I can come visit here to see it any time I want, right? And you can guarantee that you'll take care of it when I'm not here...?"
It was apparent that she'd certainly cared about the welfare of the future of this plant. And that she'd grown attached and trusting to Xenneth already. She hadn't quite thought she'd get attached this fast. Maybe because she'd admired him? Or perhaps it was his gentle aura that seemed to calm her. Maybe it was just a good day? For any of those things, it really hadn't mattered. All that counted now was that they were friends. She'd given him another one of her rare, warm smiles, seeming to try to encourage him to help this plant grow to its greatest potential.

[Xenneth had given her a strange puzzled face at first as if she had asked one of the most silliest questions in the world. His hand had reached to his mouth cuffing it securing a small laugh that seemed so petite now.
”Don‘t be so silly! Of course! You‘re as welcome as anyone to come to these gardens. Furthermore, I‘ll take care of the seed just I would do any other plant in this garden.”
He couldn’t even slightly imagine himself not doing so. As he said that, he lifted his right hand as he shown his curled fingers, except one that stuck in the air. It was a small pinky finger that meant one thing, and that was promise. His sapphire colored eyes sitting on the girl in a dreamy way which seemed normal for a calm and collected gentleness that he bore.
”I‘ll even come by and visit you at the bar one day and tell you how everything here is. I‘ve always wanted to try somewhere new on the weekends that my sisters are left in charge of the gardens.”

"Then it's a promise!"
Chihaya blushed as she'd extended her own pinky finger out to him and she'd slowly curled it around his as she'd smiled a bigger smile and giggled a bit. It had been a long time since she could do this with someone. There were times with Haruna, but even that was rare. More and more, she began to trust Xenneth as she'd extended the seed out to him with her other hand and said,
"Let's get planting then, shall we?"
She'd eyed the small tools Xenneth had taken out, wondering just how to use them. She'd never seen anyone work in the garden before now, so she was curious to how it all worked. There was an odd spade-shaped tool, along with a strange multi-hooked tool. There were plenty of other ones, but Chihaya had no idea what they were called or what they did. Perhaps she'd learn something like that from Xenneth as well?
