Does this make me look fat?
No seriously I was wondering what people would say are base cards. Meaning Magic and trap cards that can be useful in any deck simply because of the way the cards work, for example Waboku, Swords of Revealing Light, Mirror Force. Cards that can no matter what help any deck.

Heavy Storm is pretty much THE splashable card... Along with Torrential Tribute and Trap Dustshoot... Oh! And Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter is fairly splashable in a lot of decks as well.

Space Gate is a card I have in my alien deck that works pretty well in anything. Mystical Space Typhoon is pretty good to. Monster gate could work...same with magic jammer and horn of heaven!

I still say theme is important. Try and stay true to your theme. Since winning a duel doesn't mean that much on a message board role play...

Well, of course sticking to the theme is important, but I believe we're talking about cards that can really fit in any deck, no matter what the theme is. x3
As for more splashable cards, there's also Shrink, Phantom of Chaos, Enemy Controller, and Phoenix Wing Wind Blast~ All of which are Unlimited with the exception of Phantom of Chaos, being Semi-Limited. You can also make use of plenty of other cards that aren't limited, such as Krebons, Plaguespreader Zombie, and I'm pretty sure Caius the Shadow Monarch is also on that list of Unlimited, Splashable cards.

Ugh...
Pretty much hate some of these cards. Plaguespreader, Monarchs...STARDUST!!! *shivers* They're just too commonly used to th e point that personlized or customization isn't even possible. I for one think no one follows themes anymore anyway since we have cards like those and DAD running about.

I already knew.
Your SN gave it away.
But still, it's very rare when someone does run a theme deck for someone. <.<

Meh~ My charry here runs Virus~ But then again, the monsters are like that because the Theme is the Viruses~ Besides, you aren't really doing a Theme either~ You're just using cards that circle the usage of Nurse~ xD

Well here's my checklist once I have build my idea.
Monster Reborn Brain Control Heavy Storm Smashing Ground Mirror Force Solemn Judgment Torrential Tribute Card Trooper Sangan Spirit Reaper Swords of Revealing Light Sakuretsu Armor Bottomless Trap Hole Krebons D.D. Assailant D.D. Warrior Lady Allure of Darkness Hammer Shot Magical Mallet Reload Rescue Cat Back to Square One Compulsory Evacuation Device
These are some of the ones from the top of my head. However you won't use them in every deck. ^_^ just helpin'

Sakuretsu Armor, I can't really agree with. More people would run Dimensional Prison over that, just because it can get rid of Stardust. ^ ^;; And Magical Mallet as well. Because it gives your hand an instant -1 for putting cards back into the deck. =P If anything, I believe Card Destruction should replace it on this list. x3
