A basket of red had sat close by amongst the rustling of the bushes nearby. The winds that swept over the garden lately were calm and refreshing, the perfect conditions for a small walk within the maze. The skies were clear as not a single cloud darkness had shown itself. There was only fluff to the purest of white carried by gentle winds. Those clouds had begun to race at faster speeds as one wind had blown harder carrying a rose from the security of the brown wicker basket and onto the green blades of trimmed grass.
”Hmm…I can‘t lose one.”
The voice was gentle with the least bit of worry. A soft hand reaching down and gripping the green stem with a thumb and index finger’s mid knuckle. Gently he had lifted the single rose as he brought it to his face. He had gathered the essence from the plant with a inhale as he captured the scent. His memory was refreshed. He had smelled this scent many times, but every time he took a whiff of the plant, the memory’s fragrance always faltered to the actual scent every time he took a fresh hint of the aroma.
”Smells good.”
His hand reached out to two buds that were to his left. His right hand slipping the stem amongst the bloomed roses as the woven the stems along with the bushes until they seemed like a clustering trio of the beautiful plants. His face showing a nice expression towards the sight. A smile given to the combination of beauty as he stood up tall and reached for the arched handle of his brown basket turning a shoulder face and starting to walk away. He proceeded as he passed the bushed walls of greenery while reached to his basket turning the bulk cylindrical tool as it’s needle spun until pointing to a letter at it’s left.
”A marker to the west, yes?”
The gentle voice belonging to the feminine looking young man had seemed to show an optimistic desire to his work. He had let out a pressed lip giggle as he turned the direction at the corner. Heading to his next destination to mark off spots for the unfortunate victims of this maze. Though he couldn’t think of them as victims, but wouldn’t it be fun to be lost in a maze? A place waiting to have it’s unique sights discovered was somewhere worth being lost in.
He had continued along the way as his lips pressed together, humming a tune as he tended to his task.
